The Inaugural Kern County STEMposium is set for Friday, May 19, 2017. According to the website for the event, “The STEMposium will bring together students, businesses, and the community to share information on ‘all things STEM.’ Think ‘science fair meets job fair’, where high school students will demonstrate their innovative STEM projects, while businesses display equipment and demonstrate skills needed to be successful in the workplace. Adding to the energy will be speakers on the ‘STEM Stage,’ delivering informative talks that will be of benefit to students, educators, and businesses alike.”
“Whenever there is an opportunity to have industry inform CTE programs of its focus and direction, it adds a level of expertise and insight that is unparalleled. Having true collaboration with industry increases the experience and exposure students will receive while in high school.” - Dr. Ben Sherley, Director of Educational Services, KHSD
