Local television, print, and photojournalists were invited as guest speakers. Each professional shared their stories about how they became journalists, the schooling involved, the job challenges, some of their most memorable moments, and what day-to-day operations are like working in a newsroom. They also learned more about how journalism is changing with advances in technology.
The event concluded with awards given in print and broadcast categories. The winners were:
